The actual problem.

Specialty coffee can become visually clinical very quickly. Seven Balance needed expertise without losing the warmth and looseness of a place people actually want to stay in.

Turn seven everyday coffee objects into the visual vocabulary.

Seven elements

Branch, cherries, beans, grinder, portafilter, pour-over and a flame form the recognisable object system.

Handmade tiles

The visual language borrows from imperfect, collected surfaces rather than pristine coffee-tech minimalism.

Colour

Multiple colours are held together by repetition and structure, so variety feels intentional.

Applications

Cups, sleeves, menus, bags and posters behave like different rooms in the same place.

A system that likes objects.

The identity gets stronger when it is applied. The icon language makes menus, cups and takeaway packaging feel collected rather than templated.

A coffee studio should have enough identity to be remembered after the caffeine wears off.
